Advisory Board
Mission
The mission of the WOW Baltimore Advisory Board at Notre Dame of Maryland University is to plan, curate, fundraise and promote the WOW Festival in advance of the event on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Following the mission and vision of founder Jude Kelly CBE and the WOW Foundation, the purpose of the advisory board is highlight the accomplishments of women working in areas and capacities that advance gender equality.

Charge
The Advisory Board is charged with the following leadership areas directly related to strategic execution and promotion of the WOW Festival:
Program: identify, contact or make introductions to speakers, panelists, performing groups, exhibitors, etc. for the WOW festival; assist with planning a Marquis evening and/or VIP event
PR/Marketing: develop and execute PR/Marketing plan for maximum visibility
Operations: plan locations/logistics/support for festival activities; coordinate volunteer coverage/staffing/training, etc.
Sponsorship and Fundraising: Interface with corporate, nonprofit, and individual partners to promote WOW to the external community; engage sources of financial support/sponsorships; leverage connections in the Baltimore women’s and philanthropic communities to support WOW; and make a personal or company commitment towards the WOW fundraising goal.
Audience Outreach/Support: identify and engage various audience segments; assist with the hosting, scheduling, invitations and facilitation of the “WOW Thinkins”; help develop plan for ticket sales
Membership
Board membership will be ad hoc through the duration of the Festival in March 2020. Members are expected to attend meetings and to volunteer for at least one of the many Committee Engagement Opportunities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Attend Board meetings in person, equipped with information on past meetings and current program information.
- Share unique industry and/or scholarly expertise in order to enrich Festival programming and entertainment.
- Participate by engaging in at least one of the Committee Engagement Opportunities

WOW Advisory Board Engagement Opportunities
Host a Thinkin
Host a Thinkin, a community or organization-based thought-gathering session, in an appropriate venue. Thinkins last approximately 90 minutes and attendance will ideally include at least ten attendees and light refreshments are provided. NDMU will provide the Thinkin facilitator for the time and location chosen.
Host a WOW Happy Hour
Host a happy hour or reception to help promote the WOW Festival at a Baltimore venue.
Co-Curate a Panel/Workshop/Discussion Group
Work closely with WOW planning staff to identify and contact specific speakers, hone discussion topics, and craft the marketing language for an hour-long time slot at the event within festival guidelines.
